LIFE - The hardest Game
Give my life into His hands? That’s too
good to be true!” a young man
exclaimed. His mother left him when he
was only five years old and he had to
grow up taking care of himself and his
two little brothers.
He completely lost
his balance. Life
led him to drop
out of school and
join a gang later
on. All he wanted
was to be in
control, to find
some relief, but when one of his younger
brothers followed in his footsteps and
died in a gang fight – he thought his own
game was over.
Many young men and women have lost
control of their lives. Their youth doesn’t
mean anything when it comes to seeing
the wrong side of life. But just as a game
is made of choices, so is life.
It’s your turn and the cards are on the
table. What are you going to do?
Sometimes the best choice to make isn’t
the obvious one. It’s a hidden choice,
almost like a secret one.
Only those who search long enough get
it. When you have a relationship with
God, you know the Author of this game.
He guides you in every way, including
which relationship and career to go for.
But you may say, ‘Why hasn’t He done
that for me then?’ Well, it’s simple.
Read the first part of this paragraph again
… if you have a relationship with God …
He won’t be part of your life if you don’t
give it to Him. If you come to church but
still sleep with your boyfriend or
girlfriend, smoke, lie, steal, cheat or mix
with the wrong crowd, where does God
fit in?
If you want to win this game, you’ve got
to follow the rules … cheating your way
into life will not get you very far.
God Bless You
WHEN PLANS GET CANCELLED
One of the most common things
you ’ll fi nd in women these
days is the need to be in
control. We like to know what’s
going on and what will happen
later. We like to plan way
ahead of time. We set dates,
we set targets, we set a list of
future requirements.
But when those go wrong, get
out of our way. We ’ll literally
go wild emotionally. Stress is all
over our face and you ’ll know it
by the way we talk, walk, and
roll our eyes at the smallest
insignifi cant comment that is
made contrary to how we think.
When things don ’t work out
according to our plans, it feels
as though everything pauses.
We stop the routine, we stop
changing.
And then we tell ourselves
we ’ll get things in place, stuff
done, and then focus on other
important matters of life. I ’ve
had tons of those days and this
week literally began this way
until yesterday- -when all of
my entire new plan F went
down the drain--just like Plans
A, B, C, D, and E. It was around
4pm and all I could think about
was how would I ever get back
on track.
I was tired of it, I hadn’t been
sleeping much, something has
got to give! I looked at myself
in the mirror and quickly
spotted the main problem. I
was becoming my failed plans
and would soon become a
disappointment unto myself... so
in order to cut off the problem
at the root, I decided to take a
different approach to the whole
mess...
“Be joyful always; pray
continually; give thanks in all
circumstances, for this is God’s
will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1
Thessalonians 5:16 - 18
When circumstances are out of
our jurisdiction, there ’s really
not much else to do, so why not
just thank God instead? At the
end of the day, I was laughing
at the whole situation and it felt
great! We ’ll always be able to
make new plans anyway,
stressing over them is not
worth it at all.
God Bless You
True Love and Faith !
Someone I love had hurt me
right at the core and at first, I
was angry, very angry. I didn ’t
want to see that person nor
hear that person ’s voice. I’d
think about what had happened
every single day and every
minute of the day.
Friends strived to find words to
help me, family encouraged me
to be in the faith, but nothing
and no one really understood
how I felt... I told myself I
wasn ’t going to let it get me
down, I made myself strong for
most of the day. Found things
to do, got occupied as much as
possible, but there were always
those times I just couldn ’t resist
it any longer.
The anger had become a deep
sadness. The pain inside of me
would always come to the
surface at one time or another
and I hated that. I wasn ’t
myself. ‘Where’s your faith?’
I’d ask myself. I’d look in the
mirror and rebuke that sad and
defeated woman looking at me
over and over again. I started
noticing how humbled I felt, as
if I had lost all the positive
things I once thought were in
me, and was now only left with
my own flaws.
I was vulnerable with all those
emotions right under my skin.
My husband often hugged me
about it, kept trying to make
me forget about it all, but he
could only give me so much... I
knew deep down, only God
could really help me and for
awhile, I thought He had left
me alone to suffer it all. I ’d
pray and nothing. I’d ask for
strength, and again nothing. I’d
serve Him more, give more of
myself in His Work, and still
nothing until... He used my
mother to e-mail yesterday ’s
blog’s Bible passage.
I read it over and over again,
with tears coming down my
face because I knew that was
what I lacked, true love. I put it
up as my desktop wallpaper and
often read it throughout the
day. Love is patient... Love
endures all things... Love never
gives up... The more I read it,
the more I let it sink in. I had
to love despite it all. I had to
endure it, be patient, persevere,
stop looking back, and most of
all, stop giving up! I realised
that my sadness really meant
giving up.
I was giving up on that person
and if I hadn ’t let love take
over again, that sadness would
have probably won the battle.
Faith walks alongside love. You
can ’t just use your faith, and put
love on hold, and vice versa.
God Bless You
